Amy Foss is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who integrates evidence-based therapeutic approaches with trauma-informed care and brain-body science to help young people develop psychological flexibility, stress tolerance, and healthy identity formation during the high-pressure years of adolescence and competitive athletics. In addition to her clinical practice, Amy holds deep understanding of the mental demands of competitive sports, with experience in athletic coaching and performance development as a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. She began her coaching journey in 1998 as a kickboxing instructor, and alongside her husband, Amy coached thousands of athletes to reach their personal goals, including hundreds who went on to earn state, national, and world championship titles. This rare clinical and coaching background allows Amy to support athletes in common challenge areas such as performance anxiety, emotional and nervous system regulation under competition stress, mental focus and resilience training, healthy communication and interpersonal relationships, recovery from setbacks, injuries, or performance slumps, and burnout. Amy also has extensive experience working with clients impacted by complex trauma and attachment disruptions — often-overlooked factors that can significantly limit capacity for healthy emotional regulation, self-esteem, and interpersonal relationships both on and off the court. Amy has a passion to help young athletes develop not only elite performance skills, but also help move individuals towards personal growth, holistic well-being, and character development.

Kelsey Shannon
Club Coach

"My coaching philosophy operates on perfect effort. Not perfect results...."
Kelsey Shannon believes volleyball is more than a game, it is a stage where young women confront pressure, fatigue, sacrifice, and selflessness. To her, the sport asks one defining question: who will you become in moments of adversity? She brings 12 years of coaching experience and 8 years of competitive and collegiate playing experience to the club. A 2014 graduate of Clay High School, Kelsey helped cement the strongest record in program history during her playing career. At the same time, she competed at the national club level, earning recognition and a scholarship opportunity through USA Volleyball. Kelsey continued her athletic and academic career at North Greenville University, where she competed in the NCAA while graduating early with honors and earning a Bachelor of Science degree. During her collegiate career, she received multiple Academic All-Conference selections, earned the Impact Award, and helped lead the program to its first Southern Division Title and Conference Tournament appearance. While competing collegiately, she also began her coaching career with Upstate Volleyball Club. After graduation, Kelsey returned home to Clay County, where she served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach at Oakleaf High School for three years while coaching with Black Creek Volleyball Club for nine seasons. During that time, she led highly competitive teams that consistently advanced deep into championship play. Most recently, Kelsey returned to her alma mater as Head Coach at Clay High School, where she has helped triple the program’s win total, host its first district quarterfinal in three years, and establish a foundation for long-term success. Kelsey’s teams and programs are built on the principle of perfect effort — not perfect results. She believes every repetition deserves full commitment, just as every opportunity and responsibility these athletes encounter in adulthood will demand the same. Their families deserve it. Their futures deserve it. Their lives deserve it. Through the 30 x 30 philosophy, Kelsey instills a perfect-effort mindset daily, with the expectation that it carries far beyond volleyball and into every stage of life.

Sierra Mooney has had volleyball as a part of her life for as long as she can remember. As a proud graduate of Middleburg High School, her love for the game began on the same court she now has the privilege of coaching on today. She played all four years of high school before continuing her athletic career at Lake-Sumter State College and Johnson & Wales University. While competing in college volleyball, she also pursued her second passion and earned a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts. Coaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of her journey. She has five years of club volleyball coaching experience and recently completed her second high school season. She currently teaches at Middleburg High School, where she is dedicated to helping student-athletes grow not only as players, but as confident, hardworking young adults both in the classroom and on the court. Volleyball helped shape her into the person she is today, and that is why she is passionate about teaching more than just the fundamentals of the game. She strives to instill positivity, leadership, accountability, and the importance of being a great teammate. She believes a great coach does not just develop skills—they build confidence, character, and teamwork that athletes carry with them long after the season ends. One of the highlights of her coaching career was leading a 17s team to a 5th-place finish in the Gold Division at AAU Nationals with a 10–2 record, an accomplishment that continues to fuel her passion and competitive drive.
